Tech Awareness

A friendly, in-person introduction to using everyday technology with confidence — from smartphones to essential online services.

What this program covers

Tech Awareness is Maple Future Foundation's entry-level, in-person session designed for community members who want to feel more comfortable with everyday technology. Delivered in local language by trained volunteers, it removes the intimidation factor that often keeps people from picking up a smartphone or going online for the first time.

Sessions are hands-on and pace themselves to the room — nobody moves on until everyone in the group is ready. Participants leave with practical, repeatable skills they can use the same day.

  • Setting up and navigating a smartphone safely
  • Using messaging apps to stay connected with family
  • Finding trustworthy information online
  • Basics of email and government service portals
  • Spotting common scams and unsafe links
